More suggestions to make this forum a little more usable.
Can we please have a “Jump to first unread post” feature? On threads like the Global/GMG one which are running to multiple pages it would be great to just jump to the first unread post on the correct page without scrolling or guessing which page it is on.
Can we also have the ability to tag someone’s name when quoting posts. Sometimes people quote others and it is not immediately obvious who/context without scrolling back.
These seem to be pretty standard features on other forums, and I know would add to the user experience here :-)

Well on every other forum software I’ve used – PHPBB/UBB/vBulletin/IB Power etc… the convention is when quoting someone…

This usually results in the quote being preceded by something along the lines of …

Maybe you could do something like bq=Ash Elford. as a tag?

“Jump to first new post” is now coded – it appears in topic indexes only at present, but it should appear in more places soon.
Let’s look into how quotes work. I regret my choice of using Textile within these forums now, given its comparative lack of use. Not sure how I can back-fit old-fashioned forum code.

I would prefer a format bar with short cut buttons above the text input box rather than trying to remember Textile code. i.e. click a button for hyperlinks and the code appears automatically in the text box below.

Hi James, the post jump feature doesn’t seem to work on Opinion pieces.

That’s a known issue, Ash – working on it. (Kind of.) ;)

“Jump to first unread” – yep, absolutely.
How would the tagging thing work? What would the UI look like?
