In a surprise announcement GWR has reduced the size of its executive board dropping the long-serving Patrick Taylor, whose poisiton will be filled by three remaining senior executives. The former sales boss and digital director, Simon Ward, has also left the board but remains with the company. In a city statement, the company says that the slimming down of the board is necessary because of its recent disposal of radio interests overseas and of those UK operations no longer regarded as core.
