Radio plays a lot of music. A lot of music. And some of the larger radio stations play it to tons of people, too.
Just last week, Owl City's "Alligator Sky" was played thirteen times on Radio 2. In total, it came out of radio speakers across the UK over 16.5 million times.
Media UK lists the most-played ten songs from hundreds of radio stations across the UK. You'll see the most popular song on the radio station's main page - Radio 2 likes Dionne Bromfield right now, while Absolute Radio's dead set on Coldplay's new one.
Click 'airplay chart' on every radio listing, and you'll see the most heard songs on every radio station last week. It's like a chart. Here's Absolute Radio's, for example. You can see how the chart's changed from previous weeks - what's new, what's slipping.
If the song doesn't appear to job any memories with you, and you have Spotify, we've just added links direct to search Spotify's music database too. So, chances are, you can click just a couple of buttons and hear Owl City for yourself. It's quite a natty tune, and it's got a massive key-change in it.
That's quite useful for specialist stations, like NME Radio, for example. Or even a way to find loads of great oldies - Elvis Presley seems to be getting a load of plays on Gold.
Radio's a wonderful place to find new music. Now, Media UK can help, too. Enjoy!
