Another Club Asia DJ defects to Sunrise Radio

Anushka leaves Club Asia for SunriseYet another presenter has bid adieu to Club Asia and defected to rival Sunrise Radio.

Anushka Arora, the station's newest presenter has quit after just five months of being put in charge of Club Asia's weekly Bollywood show 'Bollypoppin'.

The 21-year-old confirmed the developments today, saying she had presented her final show on Saturday (29th September) and that she would be joining Sunrise Radio on a show, yet to be announced.

Anushka told BizAsia.co.uk her reason behind quitting Club Asia so suddenly. "I've left because I am getting a chance to show what I have really got, at a better time slot. It has been a real pleasure working with Club Asia and I have learnt some great things which will help me further my career even more. I look forward to joining a great, well known and a very strongly established station like Sunrise Radio."

Veena V, Ray Khan, Noreen Khan and Jas 'The Man' Rao are some of the other names that have recently left Club Asia. Incidentally Kejal, a former Club Asia presenter, joined Sunrise Radio in 2005 and since gone on to present the Breakfast and Drivetime shows.

Another couple of personalities parting ways with Club Asia are Bali Kaur, from Scotland is also leaving the station, along with its events organiser Mandeep Nandra.

With so many names departing from the popular London station, surely a schedule revamp is imminent. No one from Club Asia was available for comment at the time of filing this news piece.
