Radio veteran Michael Parkinson has quit his long running radio show on BBC Radio 2 - to travel the world with his wife. The last edition of Parkinson's Sunday Suppliment will broadcast in December after over a decade on the air.
He told people at a charity event in London he was looking forward to travelling, visiting his grandchildren in Australia, live in New York for a few months and see more of Europe.
Lesley Douglas has wished him well, and the 72 year old is not ruling out a return at some point in the future.
