BBC1 has commissioned a new crime drama from Waking the Dead creator Barbara Machin, which will see the action flip backwards and forwards in time.
The "gritty" two-part Blood Rush will star Louise Lombard as the head of a crime team investigating a man who has killed one person and has kidnapped another.
Blood Rush, which also stars Danny Dyer and Lyndsey Marshal, will see the action jump back and forth as the pasts of the leading characters get caught up in the investigation.
Ms Machin said: "There's always more than one perspective to a crime. In fact, every point of view tells a different story.
"So this approach allows viewers to get under the skin of all our characters - to be right at the heart of the action and see the story from the most compelling and exciting perspective at any given time.
"And each time you think you finally understand the truth, hopefully immediately afterwards we will take you somewhere new."
The drama, which is made in-house by BBC Northern Ireland, is currently filming on location in Bristol and is expected to air next year.
Blood Rush was commissioned by BBC controller of fiction Jane Tranter.
