Insight Media, publisher of Airport World and Routes News magazines, is looking for a new reporter with a great news sense to work across its growing portfolio of b2b online news products, in particular the development of the Global Airport Cities website.

These support our leading global business-to-business aviation publications and you will also have a role reporting news and covering some regulars for the bimonthly magazines.

Reporting on the fast-paced commercial aviation industry, including airport operations, airline route development and airport city trends, the role includes covering international conferences and events.

Regular global international travel is a key part of the job.

The fast evolving nature of the online products mean that this role could also offer the right candidate scope for growth into an online editorship.

The role

  • Source and report daily online news across a number of websites
  • ·Support online news coverage through the use of social networking channels
  • Source images to support online news
  • Cover international conferences and contribute online news from events
  • Attend press conferences and press trips
  • Contribute to the news pages of two bimonthly magazines
  • Be responsible for some well-established regular features across the magazine portfolio

Other duties

You will be expected to be able to work independently in building an enviable contact book and to support the editorial team with creating online communities.

Experience


Minimum of two years working as a reporter on a trade magazine or regional newspaper.

Online news reporting experience would be a major plus.

Qualifications

  • NCTJ qualified
  •  Relevant university degree or qualification
  • A second European language would be a bonus.

Skills and attributes

This role requires a great news sense, the ability to dig up exclusives and report across a number of platforms.

You will be working within a global arena, so strong cultural awareness and a flexible approach is required.

You will be able to work independently on fast paced news production within a small team environment and to be able to travel internationally with a team as well as alone.
