Deputy editor, KD Media Publishing - England

We require a positive, energetic and motivated deputy editor to join KD Media, which is a publishing company based in Witham. We publish twelve bi-monthly consumer-wedding titles and four bi-monthly trade B2B titles.
You will be responsible for Attire Accessories, which is a bi-monthly publication for the fashion accessories trade that is distributed to buyers in independent fashion shops, jewellers, boutiques, shoe shops, bag shops, accessory shops and buyers in national fashion chains and department stores.
The company is at an exciting period of development and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of the magazine and play a key role in moving it forward.
Primary responsibilities:
- Liaise and interact positively with clients, conduct interviews and assign, write and edit copy
- Update and upload content to web sites with new information as required
- Exercise good interpersonal/communication skills for effective and professional liaison within the company and for the development of the magazine
- Attend trade shows and industry events
- Work closely with the editorial team to assist in any additional tasks that may be required
Skills and experience:
- Enthusiasm for print and web journalism
- Excellent project/time management and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail (e.g. grammar, style, consistency)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong editing and proof-reading skills
- Good research and selection skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm, drive and flexibility
- Ability to perform in high pressure situations
- Ability to work as part of a team and on individual projects
- Proven track record in editorial skills
