Specialist reporter with Spanish/other languages, Informa Agra - England
This job is located in London, England (map)
Leading business-to-business publisher Informa Agra is seeking a Specialist Reporter to work on its flagship publication, Agra Europe. We are looking for a keen journalist with advanced language skills.
Based in London, you will be reporting on and analysing global agricultural market movements, particularly arable crop markets. The South American region would be a particular focal point, although your remit would encompass all of the major global arable crop markets.
You will be required to seek and develop contacts across the global agriculture sector, and to become, in effect, an expert in the field of agricultural commodity markets.
The role will require excellent English writing skills, an appetite for research and market analysis, and the ability to read, understand and quickly assimilate foreign-language content.
You will be creating news and analysis for our online rolling news service, as well as for our weekly printed issue. You will also be required to contribute to discussions on social media networks such as LinkedIn, and you may be called upon to answer subscriber queries sent through our ‘Ask The Analyst’ service.
We are looking for someone who is fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese (ideally both), while a good knowledge of other languages would be a significant additional asset. You must have an interest in international trade and markets, a naturally inquisitive nature, and an analytical mind.
Joining a team of six, you will be working closely with all the team members in London and Brussels.
There may be opportunities to report on conferences in the UK and perhaps abroad, and the potential to meet industry representatives or visit business establishments.
In return, we can offer you a competitive salary, an awards-winning benefits package, and the chance to work as part of a dynamic and forward-thinking publishing team in a stimulating environment.
Agra Europe is a long-established subscription news service which enjoys an unparalleled reputation as a reliable source of timely information on issues relating to EU agricultural policy, production and trade. It is avidly read by leading decision-makers in the agri-food industry and in ministries of agriculture throughout the world.
