About the position
BeatThatQuote.com is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working personal finance journalist to join the expanding editorial team.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in money matters, strong writing skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Web Editor, you will be responsible for:
1. Researching and writing daily financial content on a range of topics requested by your line manager.
2. Writing ad hoc content when asked by your line manager as well as proofing emails and other online content.
3. Brainstorming and developing ideas for features.
4. Finding new ways to engage readers – i.e. social networking/surveys.
5. Selecting financial products and money saving tips to include in articles/emails.
6. Analysing the general and commercial performance of the written content whether it be website, tabloid or email based.
7. Effectively assess liability risk of content by consulting your line manager.
8. Maximising the revenue potential of the editorial team proposition by:
- maximising readership and page impressions
- delivering relevant content in a timely fashion
- taking a proactive approach to engage readers
- researching market trends to expand your knowledge of financial products
- proactively sourcing relevant material for publication
- expanding knowledge of various systems/tools – i.e. poll tool/photoshop
Skills and experience required
Existing knowledge of personal finance is desirable, as is an awareness of online finance media including price comparison websites, blogs and forums.
The key responsibilities attached to this role will be researching and writing high-quality articles on a range of topics including successful money management, various financial products and money saving tips.
We are looking for someone with the ability to deliver content on tight deadlines and generate must-read content ideas.
