Al Nisr Media is looking for a dynamic and experienced editor to take on the position of editor of Friday magazine.
Distributed with Gulf News each week, Friday is the region’s largest English language magazine covering all aspects of life and leisure in the UAE. It has a deep commitment to the community, with its editorial focusing on the many facets of the country’s society.
It is aimed at a broad audience of UAE nationals and expatriates alike who look forward to a weekly indulgence of lean-back reading covering the local issues that matter to the community, as well as food, travel, fashion and other leisure sectors.
We are looking for an Editor who will be able to grow the brand both editorially and commercially, who is passionate about magazine publishing and is fascinated by the themes of society, life and leisure.
Applicants need to have:
A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior position on a lifestyle magazine.
- The ability to write and edit with a strong voice that evokes the Friday brand and reflects the magazine's DNA.
- The ability to explore and develop relationships with key players in the markets.
- An excellent understanding of digital media.
- High levels of initiative and creativity.
- Thorough knowledge of the magazine production process.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to constant changes in workload and scheduling.
