Deputy editor, Sky - England

This job is located in London, England (map)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Editor who is passionate about sport to join our Commercial Sky Business team, responsible for producing our monthly customer magazines: Preview and Betview.

Sky Business is the commercial arm of Sky and now has over 40,000 business customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Our customers include pubs, clubs, bookmakers, offices, hotels, gyms, shops and golf clubs. From our origins of showing great football in pubs, Sky Business has enjoyed massive growth so today our team prides itself on tapping into the popularity of all sorts of sport and entertainment, and uses exciting technological innovations like HD and 3D to bring exactly the right content to the right audience at the right time.

Our Deputy Editor will be involved at every stage of the process in producing these monthly sports and industry-focused publications - from conducting interviews, writing news and feature articles, subediting external articles, contributing to the comprehensive sports listings sections in each magazine and proofreading final layouts. You will need to work closely with teams both in Sky Business and the wider Sky including Sky Sports, Brand and Marketing to ensure we produce a first-rate publication our customers will love.

Preview magazine targets Sky Pubs & Clubs and is designed to help them get the most from their Sky subscriptions - highlighting the key sports content for the month ahead as well as promoting best practice in the on-trade. Betview magazine targets all betting operators, both Sky and non-Sky customers. As well as providing sports content and best practice, Betview aims to act as a platform for the betting industry, stimulating debate around the industry's latest news and topics.

Sky Business is a fun, but hardworking environment to work in, and we are keen to find someone with a real passion for Sports writing to join the team. You'll ideally have gained your experience from relevant trade magazines or similar sporting magazines and perhaps will be looking to move to your first in-house role.  Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in publishing software tools like QuarkXPress and InDesign and be happy to work across all elements of producing our magazines.

Our benefits package is to recognise the essential part you play in Sky's success. We offer free Sky+ HD, broadband and talk services; private medical insurance, generous holiday entitlements, a contribution pension scheme, a Share scheme so you can have a stake in Sky and our success plus Sky Choices a benefit scheme to help you make valuable tax & national insurance savings.

Sky delivers some of the most diverse content and services on the planet, and we value the same diversity within our business. We provide a culture of entrepreneurialism and opportunity for one and all.

Sky - Believe in Better
