The London bureau of Dow Jones Newswires has an opening on the fast-paced Money and General news desk for a copy editor with solid experience covering all aspects of macroeconomics, currency markets and global news. The position involves editing real-time financial and political news from Europe, Middle East and Africa. The desk turns round flash headlines, edits stories, analysis and market commentary and identifies potential market-moving news from TV and other media.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of monetary policy, capital markets and global politics and be able to edit copy accurately while under pressure, as well as have previous financial reporting or editing experience, preferably in a real-time environment. An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.
