About The Role
The main purpose of the Managing Editor's role is to manage the delivery and quality of production, within an efficiently created workflow and to prescribed budgets, of all the products to be created within the hub. This will involve interaction with editors and section editors who are creating content, and managing that content through the production process for both print and digital products. You will directly manage all production staff within the Guitars Group hub, plus oversee workflow for art staff. This role will also include day-to-day subbing/general production and administration duties.

To begin with, you'll be managing editorial production of Total Guitar print edition. Soon after, the role develops way beyond that. The right candidate will be at the forefront of this new and innovative production process for the whole Guitars Group, adopting new skills and experiences that will put them in good stead for their career progression.
About Us
The Guitar hub will consist of 3 main brands (Guitarist, Total Guitar and Guitar Techniques), plus a series of bookazines and other spin-off branded activities and digital products. We work closely with Music Radar.com
When finished, it is envisaged that the hub will consist of 2 main strands: content creation and content production. The Managing Editor will be responsible for the production side, leading by example and training where necessary. It will involve daily liaison with all members of the group to ensure smooth running of schedules.
This role also requires someone who can spearhead new product development and other initiatives to ensure the workflow efficiency and quality is the best it can be.
