Do you love celebrity news and gossip? Are you the first to know all the juicy details of the latest scandals? Are you a religious follower of TV, film, arts, music and soaps?
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated online celebrity editor to take on our new celebrity section launching in January 2011 and our existing soap section on Sofeminine.co.uk.
The job would be ideal for an existing celebrity section editor looking for a new challenge or an experienced celeb writer who's ready to take the next step in their digital media career.
The celebrity editor will be responsible for the day to day running of the celebrity section from writing copy, securing interviews, attending video junkets, SEO, searching for exclusives, housekeeping, ensuring bios are up to date, reporting and ensuring maximum exposure for top stories via social networks.
There may also be possibility to presenting Celeb news to camera for upcoming video projects and for interviewing on screen at junkets etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
- experience writing celebrity content
- a love of all things celeb, TV, film and music.
- experience working online and with SEO best practice
- a bulging contacts book and great working relationship with PRs, agents, managers and industry insiders
- a thorough working knowledge of UK media law - particularly defamation and copyright
- a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & picture research practices
- CMS experience
- fantastic spelling and grammar skills as well as an understanding of txt speak and the latest "in words"
- an excellent, lively writing style
- an unflappable, inexhaustible and optimistic personality
This position is office based (London) and reports directly to the Editor. Although there are no direct reports at present the celeb editor will have intern support.
