Reports: All production staff are responsible for delivering content and marketing material in print or digital formats.Overall job description and function:
- Ensure production delivery meets the criteria as agreed by key stakeholders in the business and ensure correct levels of production support are always in place
- Ensure the smooth production and delivery of our printed products together with the upload and delivery of our regular content on all agreed digital platforms
- Manage our digital assets such as the website, CMS system and app products to ensure continuity of availability, correct and timely delivery of content, delivery of improvements and enhancements where this can be done in-house, and working with editorial, the management of any outsourced developments
- Manage our print production relationships such as paper, distribution and print suppliers, and monitor and review supplier costs and ensure the most efficient contracts and agreements are in place
- Manage our digital platform relationships with key suppliers such as Amazon (Kindle), Apple, Sony, Adtech, Skinkers, Bridgeline and Exact, and other developer and technology companies and digital partners and monitor and review supplier costs and commissions to ensure the most efficient contracts and agreements are in place
- Manage costs on a weekly basis ensure we are working within our budgets
- Manage marketing and events team requirements to ensure they are planned and delivered on time and within budget
- Manage the production team to ensure correct management procedures are adhered to and the correct resource and skills are available at all times
- Ensure the company is making use of the most efficient technology to deliver our services
- Work closely with, and take instruction from, the Editor and Online Editor to ensure content and design delivery, on each platform
- Work with the editorial team and the Online Editor to facilitate changes and developments on digital platforms as required. Also optimise magazine content for digital delivery (search engine optimisation, etc).
- Constantly research and monitor print, digital, mobile and online and developments affecting media and advise the business accordingly of changes, opportunities and development needs
- Manage development projects where relevant and deliver within agreed timelines and budgets
- Work with the sales team to identify and deliver new online and digital commercial opportunities, and ensure all advertising across all platforms is delivered as required by the bookings
- Devise suitable reporting suite in conjunction with the MD for weekly updates
