Online sports editor, IBTimes Company Limited - England

The International Business Times is a global online publication with 17 different editions across 14 countries. We are currently looking for an experienced sports editor to manage and contribute to the output of our sports desk.
The candidate is expected to have experience in covering and breaking exclusive football news. Football will form the core of the news covered by the sports desk at the London newsroom.
The main duties of the sports editor will be:
- Subediting the work of the sports desk accurately and quickly
- Managing the IBTimes UK sports page
- Liaising with journalists and the editors
- Writing sports news articles
- Increasing the readership of IBTimes UK sports coverage
- Breaking exclusive football and other sports news stories
Preferred candidates for this role will have:
- Proven track record as a sports editor or journalist at a reputable news organisation
- Worked at an online news organisation
- Good understanding of online journalism
- Awareness of SEO
- The ability to work quickly and effectively in a target driven newsroom
- Good network of contacts
Salary: DoE
