About The Role

Do you want to be a key decision-maker at the world’s biggest heavy metal magazine?
Metal Hammer is looking for a Features Editor to join the team.

You will be planning, writing and commissioning features and interviews for Metal Hammer, working closely with the Editor to create exciting and original features for the magazine and website. You will be responsible for managing and commissioning freelancers and ensuring that they hit their deadlines, as well as sub-editing copy and working with the Production Editor to produce the magazine to time and on budget. You will build on strong contacts within the industry and work on events such as Destroyers of the Faith and Golden Gods, as well as managing the social networks and curating the CD cover mounts.

About You

You will be passionate and knowledgeable about heavy metal with strong contacts in the industry. Strong feature writing skills and experience of generating news and feature ideas are essential. You will have magazine and online journalism skills and have experience of commissioning and managing freelance contributors to tight deadlines. With excellent time management skills you will be super organised with the proven ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.
