Media Sales Executive (Festival Magazine)

The Company
Our client is a well established and highly respected Media and Events organisation with a number of media tools including a range of International glossy lifestyle magazines, a glossy entertainment guide, consumer websites and an innovative national exhibition. They provide advertising, sponsorship solutions and exhibition space to a range of SMEs, blue chips and advertising agencies throughout the UK and abroad. They have experienced continual growth with new products and growth of their existing portfolio. They require Sales Executive to sell advertising opportunities in one of their annual magazines aimed at the Edinburgh Festival. This role will start in March and last through to June and may lead to a permanent role on other magazines or exhibitions.

The Role
Based from their office in Edinburgh you will be responsible for selling a range of classified advertising, display advertising, sponsorship and advertorials. You will be working using an existing database, sourcing leads and generating new and existing business with a mix of customers. Customers will include venues, bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, retailers and businesses aimed at the entertainment and lifestyle sector. This is a structured sale where you will identify the business needs then create, design and present innovative advertising solutions tailored to the client to ensure results. This will involve negotiating and presenting bespoke print and digital advertising solutions to key decision makers over the phone and occasionally face to face. Working to revenue targets and deadlines, you will be responsible for dealing with a range of customers from SME’s to corporate clients on an international basis.

The Candidate
To apply you will ideally require a minimum of 6 months experience in advertising sales (any medium ie. newspaper, radio, exhibitions etc).
You will have experience of or a strong interest in the Edinburgh entertainment and lifestyle sector.
Alternatively you will have strong experience and track record of telesales of any business to business product such as office furniture, office supplies, franking machines, IT equipment, IT products, training, telecoms, financial products, digital print services, home improvements or a background in recruitment consultancy.
You will have a solid understanding of the sales process. You will be commercially aware, motivated and enthusiastic. You will have the tenacity to drive sales forward coupled with a real desire to work in the media industry. You will be PC literate, creative, ambitious, articulate, proactive and quick thinking.
