Editor, Cibse - England
This job is located in London, Cambridge or Home Based, Englan (map)
CIBSE (The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) is a globally-recognised authority on best practice in the design, installation and maintenance of building services.
A pioneer in mitigating the threat of climate change, CIBSE is leading the way in engineering a sustainable built environment, and CIBSE Journal is respected, market-leading and highly rated by our 19,000+ members.
Three years after launch, our Editor is moving on and we now seek to recruit a trade and technical journalist with the right ambition and skills to develop the Journal to the next stage in engaging, informing and stimulating debate amongst members, government and the building industry.
An engineering or building background is useful but not essential: you must demonstrate the skills and experience to deliver a magazine that will satisfy demanding expectations in a challenging industry experiencing both threats (construction downturn) and opportunities (sustainability initiatives).
The Editor will need to engage both effectively and creatively with the commercial activities of the Institution and Journal: working closely with our sales agency; meeting with manufacturers, as well as engineering consultants, contractors and clients; helping to develop new print, online and event activities.
A competitive salary will be paid to the right candidate. The job requires regular trips to London and Cambridge: you may work from either location, or from your home office.
