Committed to developing excellence in research and teaching, the Division has an opportunity for a proactive individual who can demonstrate an ability to make a distinctive contribution to our research, practice and teaching in journalism with a specialism in magazine journalism.

You will undertake teaching and curriculum development in Journalism on: BA Magazine Journalism, BA Journalism, BA Journalism and PR, BA Sports Journalism, BA Multimedia Journalism, BA Broadcast Journalism. The ability to teach print production design, magazine publishing and online magazines is essential. Unit and course leadership will be conferred in accordance with the lecturer/senior lecturer roles and responsibilities.

The Division has a strong track record in encouraging and supporting staff research, and has research foci in media analysis and practice-led research. In RAE2008 the University achieved scores of 10% world-leading, 40% internationally excellent, 45% internationally significant.

You will be active in the three areas of academic activity: research, teaching and knowledge exchange and will be expected make a significant contribution in at least two of these.
