Latin America Corporate Council Association (LACCA) – Trainee Journalist, Law Business Research - All

Overall responsibility:
The Latin American Corporate Counsel Association journalist role will be responsible for producing content, both written and live content, for lawyers who work inside companies in Latin America. They will be required to produce a range of articles and projects aimed at members, as well as being responsible for maintaining and updating the membership directory. On the live content side, they will be responsible for organising and leading regular member roundtables in the region.
 
Responsibilities and tasks:

• Originating, researching and writing relevant news stories for members for regular publication;
• Originating, researching and writing articles, profiles and interviews for regular publication;
• Conducting regular surveys of members to produce research projects and articles;
• Maintaining and updating the membership directory – of circa 1000 members;
• Helping to define the editorial strategy;
• Organising and defining the content of regular in-country LACCA member meetings;
• Leading the roundtable discussion at the meetings, and reporting on content.

Person specification:
Required:

• Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organised fashion;
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload to deadline;
• Fluent Spanish (desirable but not essential);
• Ability to make public presentations with confidence;
• Ability to produce original, tightly-researched and well-written copy for a niche audience;
• Degree-level education, preferably 2:1 level or above.

An advantage:

• Portuguese;
• NCTJ or Journalism Masters;
• Experience in leading roundtable discussions;
• Editorial experience in a trade publication or similar;
• An international outlook and experience;
• Excellent communication skills.
