Role purpose
The Lifestyle Editor will oversee the creation of brilliant content for multiple projects across web and social media channels on behalf of one of the UK’s biggest retailers.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing and creating content for digital channels, and expertise in some of the following areas: fashion; beauty; home; garden; leisure; health; baby & toddler.
You will have an understanding of consumers’ behavior in these key areas, in particular as it relates to their use of digital and social media. And you’ll have some experience of working for large brands, ideally in the retail sector.
Main responsibilities
Content development and delivery
- Oversee the planning, creation and delivery of brilliant lifestyle content for distribution across web and social media channels
- Oversee the day-to-day management of digital channels
- Build and sustain communities on these channels
- Use data and insight to inform content development
- Draw on internal and freelance staff as appropriate to deliver content on time and on budget
- Manage the day-to-day operation of projects, including liaising with external stakeholders and agencies
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending client-facing meetings as required
Skills required
- Exceptional creative and writing skills
- Excellent project management skills, with experience of managing budgets, schedules and commissioning
- Knowledge of how to use analytics and data to inform content creation
- A working knowledge of search engine optimisation
- Strong client management skills
- Demonstrable passion and interest in food
Experience required
- A minimum of three years’ senior editorial experience
- Experience in the planning, conception, commissioning, delivery and amplification of digital content
- Demonstrable experience of delivering expertise and insights for lifestyle brands and communities
- Substantial experience in the operational management of a major consumer website and/or social media channel
