S&S Media is an integrated IT media company that leverages the power of print magazines and books, online portals and conferences to give enterprises a business edge, while providing cutting-edge know-how to technology buyers, technology providers, IT decision makers and professionals.
We are looking for an outstanding professional to join our editorial team as online editor.
Ideally we want to recruit an editorial professional who has a 1 – 2 years hands-on experience, although we may also consider exceptional graduates.
Your responsibilities
You will research and write news, background articles and conduct interviews with thought leaders on specialist technology topics.
Your duties are not limited purely to text and content, but also monitor continuously website performance and work on continuous improvements in cooperation with our design and web development teams. Additionally you will stay in contact with your readers, and promote your content on a daily basis via social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, and more.
Furthermore, an essential part of your work is to make new contacts with industry experts, and cultivate existing contacts with partners (corporations, consortiums, user groups, etc). You will work on print, online and conference concepts.
What we expect
Ideally you will have 1 – 2 years professional editorial experience. Alternatively you may be journalism graduate or NCTJ certificate holder, with excellent writing skills. Regardless, you can demonstrate outstanding attention to detail and can work calmly under deadline pressure.
We expect you to quickly familiarise yourself with the market and establish excellent contacts and relationships.
You are very familiar with Social Media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
A profound ITC-knowledge and enthusiasm as well as the readiness to deal with new topics and technologies for software issues would be beneficial.
You have a readiness of mind, self-reliance and strong dedication, perfect orthography of the English language, actively in terms of writing texts as well as passively with regard to editorial work and revising.
You will be able to quickly integrate into a dynamic and highly motivated team. You are web-centric; Blogs, Wikipedia and social networks are an important source for contacts and information for you.
Professional computer skills (MS Office Suite) are mandatory.
