Editor (marketing/PR Manager), Zone - All

We are ambitious.

In three years we intend to be in the top 20 digital agencies in the UK with a turnover exceeding £15 million. We are looking for someone to help make Zone famous by using content and social to spread the word; marketing ourselves as we would our clients.

We think this is the best job in the agency.

Make Zone famous for its ambition, its knowledge and its results

  • This is your main energy and focus
  • You will ensure every single piece of content we create contributes towards positioning us as thought-leaders in the industry 
  • You will write or commission content and manage the commissioning budget 
  • You will distribute the content. Specific Zone channels include the website, Zone twitter, Public Zone twitter, LinkedIn, email list. Other channels include blogger relationships, industry media, industry networks. 
  • You will ensure all content achieves its potential maximum reach through audience insight, SEO best practice and strategic cross-platform promotion 
  • You will be an active commentator and influencer in the social media industry, attending conferences and staying on top of trends and innovations
  • You will identify and build relationships with influencers & key marketers in our industry to establish Zone as a credible source of insight/knowledge about marketing in a digital world
  • You will report on performance
  • You will get C-suite marketers following us on Twitter


Showcase our work
Support the new business team by creating or managing other important marketing collateral

  • Ensure all website information is up to date
  • Manage all website updates via CMS

Case studies

  • Identify and write case studies to support Zone positioning
  • Produce case studies in formats to support powerpoint, website and print

Awards

  • Manage and co-ordinate the writing of awards by managing director, strategy and editorial director to ensure they are submitted to deadline
  • Manage awards budget 
  • Monitor awards landscape to ensure we are entering the right awards and categories to reflect & strengthen agency positioning


Leadership and management

  • Running Zone’s social media output
  • Inspiring through thought leadership and innovation, ensuring marketing and PR plays a major role in achieving Zone’s organisational aims in 2013
  • Reporting on performance

Skills required

  • You write brilliantly
  • You probably have a journalist background
  • You have a demonstrable passion about the social, cultural and economic impact of social media
  • You are an influencer in your own right (e.g. 1,500 twitter followers)
