Launched in 2008, PoliticsHome is the UK's leading political news and views website. We provide comprehensive, up-to the minute coverage of all aspects of British politics, seven days a week.
We are now looking to hire a full time trainee reporter in our Westminster-based news team.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Experience of writing about UK politics or policy
- The ability to write well, quickly and concisely
- The ability to sub-edit copy with a forensic eye for detail
- An instinct for spotting breaking news and fresh developments
- An excellent level of UK political knowledge
- Familiarity with political media and leading political commentators
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for social media
- The ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
A familiarity with InDesign and the ability to touch-type are also desirable, although not essential.
Crucially, candidates must be flexible on working hours which will include some early mornings and weekends.
