Acting Production Editor, Haymarket Media - United Kingdom

Horticulture Week, the leading news-led magazine for the £5bn horticulture industry, is seeking an experienced production editor to run its production desk for six months.
 
Experience of running a weekly business or professional magazine is essential, as is the ability to manage a range of supplements, including the bi-monthly glossy Garden Retail, in addition to Horticulture Week.
 
You will need experience of managing a small team of production staff and must demonstrate a flexible, proactive, problem-solving approach.
 
Reporting to the editor, the acting production editor's responsibilities will include:  
 

• the smooth running and flow of editorial content of the core title, Horticulture Week, its satellite title, Garden Retail, awards and other supplements, show guides and brand extensions.

• producing high-quality, well-managed and cost-efficient editorial, on time and within budget, as directed by the editor.

• day-to-day management of the production team

• copy flow, from subbing, through to layout, proofing and send-off

• production editorial costs

• the production flow of the titles
