Help create the UK’s largest database of events and entertainment listings.
Your editorial and administrative skills will help to make Global DataPoint an indispensable source for what’s on and where it’s happening all over the UK.
The position will involve editorial administrative duties, proofreading, some copywriting, events research, taking email and telephone enquiries and liaising with an offshore data entry team.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, have excellent communication, editorial and IT skills, work well in a team environment, be highly organized, interested in events entertainment and show an excellent attention to detail.
Previous editorial/administrative experience and a special interest in theatre, opera, dance and classical music would be of advantage but are not essential. Applicants should be aware that this position is largely administrative, although there is scope for future development.
- Ensure information on events and performances at entertainment venues across UK is received on a regular basis
- Manage offshore data input teams ensuring targets met and information input is accurate
- Build relationships and contacts with major suppliers of event information
- Write/edit short descriptions
- Research into designated entertainment categories
- Ensure information supplied to customers is up-to-date, comprehensive and supplied within deadlines
- Confident telephone manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Ability to write and edit succinct descriptions of events
- Computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Good internet research skills
- Experience of database entry and management
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities
- A good team player
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Must display an interest in culture and the arts
