Elsewhere, the copy editor will handle dictation/filed copy from euro zone, G7, BIS and other major events. Routine editing includes Data Snaps and updates, spot stories, interviews and longer market commentary.
Speed and accuracy are essential as well as sound news judgment. The ability to reshape updates and other stories to make them accessible to a range of readers is also important. Understanding and using the algo software is necessary as indicators form the bulk of the early morning copy flow.
