The Faculty of Arts, Design and Media is a thriving, expanding and dynamic faculty with excellent QAA teaching ratings and research rated at national and international standing. We attract substantial external funding for research and development projects from a wide range of sources and continue to develop a fantastic reputation across a diverse range of academic subjects.
As part of our highly successful Department of Media, our Journalism team is one of the biggest in the UK with state of the art equipment and facilities. We are looking to appoint to a key role in the teaching of our Journalism provision and, in particular, magazine journalism at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This exciting role will provide the opportunity to teach on our BA and MA Magazine Journalism programmes, which are both accredited by the NCTJ. You may also make contributions to BA Fashion Journalism, BA International Journalism, BA Sports Journalism, BA News Journalism and MA News Journalism.
You must be educated to degree or equivalent, possess a relevant professional qualification or significant previous experience as a senior journalist and significant up to date experience of current magazine journalism practice. Proven working knowledge of current developments in the field of journalism practice, including the use of new media technologies is also essential. Previous experience of teaching within Higher Education and of working within an editorial or industry management role would be advantageous.
