Everyhit.com - What happened?

posted on Thursday 30th August 2012 at 18:04

Everyhit.com has long been one of, if not the best resources for quickly finding out chart statistics. However, for the past few of years updates have become increasingly infrequent, before stalling entirely in 2011.

Does anybody know why this great resource, which is still up if inactive, has seemingly been retired? Additionally, does anybody know of a like-for-like, reliable replacement?

It’s still there but, as David has pointed out, the site hasn’t been updated since the beginning of last year.

Yes, it’s been dormant for a while now.

One alternative is the thorough – if a little tricky to navigate – chartstats.com, which does seem to be up-to-date.

I’m guessing Dean has different demands and priorities these days. Maybe making it more wiki style and open would bring it up to speed and lessen the management burden of running it but legal agreements make it impossible to monetise thus not earning the development charges.

I know he’s a good guy and insanely busy but he’s easy to hit up by email if you’re resourceful,

I bet pub quizzes are harder if it isn’t up to date!

The Official Charts Company now has a chart archive too, of course. In many ways I imagine its’ been rendered a tad irrelevant. Was a DJ’s bible for years that site!

Try (for a US take) www.rockonthenet.com and the chart archive there. Some really good info and all the charts as they were this week way back in the day.

Oh no, no, no, no!

Want stats? want archive and up-to-date info? Want to compile a golden year or even a Top 40 of a particular week? Want to know who’s who, what’s what and when and for how long? Then you need to go here:-

Agree with Art here, wwww.chartstats.com is a brilliant site and is easy to navigate and is uncluttered.
