'isms or 'ISMS - talkSPORT's discussion about racism in sport
Follow @mediaukdiscussI listen almost daily to the radio and TalkSport in particular, hence my email.
There are TWO parts to this email so please read BOTH!
A great many people have listened to the comments made on racism and are now getting thoroughly bored by the whole thing. The inflated HYPE over various so-called racism issues is getting blown up totally out of proportion thereby making the subject far worse than it already is. Too much of this self-opinionated garbage has been broadcast via ALL media outlets.
Let those who are totally innocent and hand on heart have never made any similar comments have their say OTHERWISE KEEP QUIET!!! You are not doing anyone any favours.
Secondly, when I opened up YOUR website I read with much joy : “For men who like to talk sport!” Believe you me, there are millions of women in this world who love to talk about sport, and who actually know what they are talking about. I suggest you amend your website before you end up in court facing charges of SEXISM! Trust me – it could just happen.
There are adverts out there (I won’t name any as I don’t want to say anything libelous) that make men look bad, but we don’t say anything as we would be laughed at. There are TV shows (again I won’t name them due to libel) that make men look bad and are the butt of all jokes with the women being far superior to the male counterpart, but again we can’t say anything as apparently it is OK to be sexist towards men.
As for the racist remarks, did you see the game, were you on the pitch when these comments were alledged to have been made? These will come out in due course under the legal process, I believe the legal world call it “Due Process”.
Hi, Barbara: regarding your second part of this email (I took care to read BOTH!), talkSPORT requested that “for men who like to talk sport” should be the description used on this website, so your gripe should be with them. Since we’re on the subject, sexism is not a crime either, so I – and they – are unlikely to end up in court facing charges of SEXISM. Trust me – it really couldn’t happen.
