Russell Bundy: Feedback On Demo For September 2012

You sound better over music, your mic pops and I can hear breaths!

The more I listen, the more the popping is putting me off! Maybe I’m being too fussy!

Other than that not a bad demo!

Thanks, i just had the microphone to loud that was all. I have had other feedback and redoing the demo as we speak, due to it not being really good enough.

In places, you sound very relaxed and natural Russell – maybe a little too relaxed..you slur your words in a few places. By contrast, the piece about Flo-Rida’s past sounds a little scripted. Somewhere in between these 2 extremes would be ideal!
You say ‘anyway’ quite a bit when moving from one idea to another..try to make these transitions smoother.
I like the bit about ‘do you believe everything your mates say?’ you could have made more of this. I’d like to hear about your mates and what they get up to.
Positives: you don’t shout, you don’t go too fast, you have more to say than just ‘the time – station name – that was this is’.
Advice is to ditch the script, enunciate a little more clearly, and pick one or two strong ideas and develop them a bit more. Also, demos need to be short but I think you could maybe get away with another 60 seconds on this.

Thanks, always trying to improve and i have to agree looking back on it, it can sounds a little to relaxed in some and the flo rida was not actually scripted, but i guess it does sound like it. Always room for improvement and will continue to do so.
