Audio Loggers

posted on Friday 19th April at 17:16

Hi folks,
Can someone recommend a good stable audio logger suitable for broadcast?
I’m using a number of systems including aircheck – which works great – but I now need something that allows users to access audio via a shared folder on the local network through an easy to use GUI rather than just looking at a folder full of files.

Thanks

Tony

Psquared Powerlog is pretty good. It’s very good user interface wise. On the client program you just select the begging and end time, click save and it will make a copy for you out of the log. It also gives a preview so you don’t get the times slightly wrong. It’s a lot easier than finding the hour long files, copying them then editing out the bit you want.

Here at HRB we use http://www.radio-soft.com/en/products/view.php?id=3

It produces a very structured file system.

Aircheck do have a playback only client

Recent versions of Aircheck now has the ability to save Wave and MP3 files for different time periods – a bit like the same idea Powerlog has to keep recent stuff uncompressed for re-use.

Probably most flexible and powerful system is PSquared Powerlog, of course this comes at a higher price tag than Aircheck!

Thanks Phil,
I thought the playback was only via the record program, I didnt know there was a standalone player – which is what I’m after. I might stay with Aircheck in that case!

Thanks again Phil!
