I wonder what Global will enforce on Real when the deal’s finalised – are you counting student/community stations, too, or just the larger ones?

BBC Local Radio uses Radioman with slightly different install configuration depending on the studio desks in use at particular stations. EG: Hereford & Worcester – Radioman into Glensound desks. This was a partial rebuild. Gloucester – Radioman into Calrec. Full studio refurb. Bristol Radioman into Audix. Retro fit to ancient desks, stop gap measure before refurb.

BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Newsbeat – VCS Dira! NG (plus Coolplay as a backup for Newsbeat)
BBC Radio 2 & 6Music – VCS Dira!4
BBC Radio 3 – VCS Dira!4
BBC Radio 4 & 4Extra – VCS Dira!4 (Non News Programmes), VCS Dira! NG + Coolplay (News Progs)
BBC Radio 5live & 5live Sports Extra – VCS Dira! NG (Coolplay as backup)
BBC Radio Asian Network – VCS Dira! NG (New Broadcasting House), Radioman (Mailbox)
BBC World Service – VCS Dira! NG (Coolplay as backup)

Most BBC Local Radio sites currently use Radioman however BBC Radio Manchester in Quay House uses VCS Dira! NG. BBC London 94.9 is due to move to this soon. The ViLOR project should lead to more BBC LR moving to NG.

Wow. This is all really quite complete. Excellent! How’s about the Celador stations?

Radio Manchester is the odd one out in the Local Radio network, it’s studios in Media City are “Network Radio” spec. Apparently it was cheaper to procure and install the same kit for Radio Manchester and 5 Live then have different stuff.
Downside being Radio Manchester isn’t part of the Virtualising Local Radio roll out.
Hi James,
Can confirm ENCO is being used ASR (Manchester) Sabras Sound (Leicester) , Radio XL is still using Audiovault since 1995 BUT the story changes as a journalist/broadcaster I’m blown away by the sheer versatility of the smaller vendors Mairlist, Stationplaylist!
oppps correction ASR also using Myriad (split studios)
At Spark in Sunderland, we use RCS Master Control.

Yep, we have radioman at our place. Not sure all LR does but suspect most.
