Bauer Radio (London) is two of the largest Radio Brands in the UK, Magic 105.4 & the Kiss network.
Magic 105.4 reaches almost 2 million listeners every week. Neil Fox wakes up London with the brighter breakfast show with other presenters including Angie Greaves, Paul Phear, Gary Vincent, Rick Astley and Kim Wilde across the day and weekend. Off air Magic 105.4 is famed for it’s artist led events.
Kiss is the UK’s number one youth station, reaching over 4 million listeners every week, playing the best in Dance, Hip Hop and R&B.

The Role

You will be working with a close-knit team within the station and commercial departments and be responsible for the design and build of all Local commercial campaigns as well as the day-to-day design maintenance of totalkiss.com and magic.co.uk and their extensions across multiple platforms. As part of the team you will also work with internal stakeholders to produce digital marketing collateral and other design support as directed by management.

You will be able to communicate confidently at all levels and will liaise with several departments in order to fulfill the brand requirements of the site. In addition to design, you will be involved in product planning and the future development of Bauer London Radio digital properties.

You will have an interest in contemporary design, social media and technology and be resourceful and creative when pursuing design projects. You must be highly organised, technically literate and have experience managing content on middle tier CMS systems.

You will be required to manage communications in a professional manner both within the company and to the outside world. This position will suit an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who can work well to deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:

• To design and build all commercial online activity for Local commercial activity on London Radio sites
• To maintain and support product design in accordance with set processes and to agreed service levels
• Identify and advise on all Design matters that could have an effect on the operations of the product
• Attend and contribute to regular design and developer meetings
• Ensure published escalation procedures are adhered to
• Work in co-operation with other members of the Team to ensure that the London Radio sites receive the best possible service.
• Escalate specific design and interface issues within the Team such that they are resolved effectively

Key Skills:

• Excellent design skills with emphasis on best practice UI/UX
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Flash
• Good knowledge of Keynote and/or PowerPoint
• Good knowledge of fundamental web standards (W3C & WAI)
• Ability to create clear wireframe designs at concept stage.
• Good communication skills both written and oral
• Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of technology in general and its potential application in the business.

Measurement

The role of Web Designer is measured on their performance in delivering key objectives, which is reflected in enhanced product delivery. The role may also be subject to 360 degree evaluation of management performance.

The role of Web Designer is primarily measured on the quality of code and products and the way in which they are delivered.

Technical and commercial teams will agree realistic budgets and timescales with the business and commit to delivering a technical solution, which includes all the selected functionality agreed within scope. Web Designers will be measured on the team’s performance in meeting these three goals.

The success of products in the marketplace will also be a measurement criterion, and with regard to issues/bugs found in the field.

The ability of the Web Designer to keep the project on course through elective or unpredictable change will also be a measurement criterion.

The performance of the Web Designer is about the reliability and functional integrity and stability of our digital products, especially focusing on the design and user interaction.
