The Marketing Executive for Capital works with the Capital Network Brand Manager & Programme Controller to devise and implement the marketing strategy for the Capital brand.
What you will be doing
Reporting to the Network Brand Manager Capital with a dotted line to the Capital Programme Controller, you will help develop and manage innovative and integrated promotional activity that drives engagement with the both XFM and Capital.
You’ll work closely with the network marketing teams, learn from best practice and communicate all proposed activity for central approval and successfully deliver local promotions that will grow reach and hours by implementing pre-determined plans on-brief, on-time and on-budget.
Working across multiple projects, prioritising accordingly with excellent attention to detail under pressure you will also develop PR initiatives and harness these to drive brand awareness to drive reach and share listening of the brands.
You will negotiate and implement partnerships and contracts with local media owners that embed our brands into the fibre of the local community and fully exploit these relationships for the benefit of the brands.
It goes without saying that you will develop a network of local contacts, develop databases of listeners and key partners and leverage these for the benefit of the brands.
Through your understanding of working with a national brand at a local level, you’ll support local commercial and SPI teams in creation and deliver on-brand commercial activity and be a key part of supporting the delivery of the local online and social media strategy.
You’ll play a proactive part in developing innovative ideas that engage the target audience and have an understanding of how to make them fit with brand strategy
What we expect of you
You will be an autonomous self starter with the ability to work remotely from all regional sites with a proven track record of working alone, often outside of ordinary office hours, without much day to day management.
Naturally you have strong communication skills and the ability to be assertive without being objectionable.
You’ll be experienced in negotiation of local market partnership and contract deals and your past experience in development and delivery of BTL promotional activity and event management will help you uphold the brand’s appearance and tone of voice by being a go-to ‘brand’ person.
You’ll demonstrate a high standard of creative writing with good attention to spelling and grammar, developed throughout your experience with creative writing for external communications.
You’ll take end of line responsibility for Street Star Coordinators and street team performance and welfare, demonstrating skills in motivating and managing promotional staff.
You’ll be the go to H&S person, who understands the implications of off-air activity, with the ability to manage H&S procedures to identify real risks, plan according actions and brief team members on the chosen outcome. You’ll also facilitate H&S training/mentoring for street teams.
You’ll demonstrable skills of working with content management systems and working with online media as well as being a social media evangelist and help deliver communications through locally owned channels.
You’ll be educated to degree level preferably relating to marketing and promotions, communications, or similar.
