Premier Radio and Premier Gospel are offering 2 people the chance to be part of the team as Interns for one year starting in January 2013.

If you’re successful you’ll learn all you need to about radio production, outside broadcasts, events and presentation. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop cross platform skills in web, video and print.

It’s a challenging and creative media environment and offers you the chance to explore the Christian faith through media.

We cover lunch expenses and daily travel in London between zones 1-2. You must be available to work four mornings or four afternoons each week in our offices for 12 months.

Job description
As the Premier Media Intern you will have the opportunity to learn how to create content about aspects of the Christian faith for Premier Radio and Premier Gospel.

You will also have the opportunity to try out other media platforms including magazines, web and video production.

As part of your internship you will be trained to undertake duties in the following areas:

Radio
•Understanding how to filter listener calls
•Research a story
•Pitching a story
•Booking guests or contributors
•Briefing presenters/producers
•Using recording equipment
•Using studio equipment
•Interview skills
•Editing audio
•Mixing audio
•Producing a package/feature
•Producing a show or podcast
•Presenting a show or podcast
•Presenting and producing live OB’s
•Using social media to maximise and promote on-air content and vice versa
•Producing promos/trails

Depending on your interests and skillsets the following are optional:
•Writing copy for news
•Recording interviews for news
•Editing cuts for news
•Presenting news bulletins
•Writing news or feature copy for online and or magazines
•Producing a brief for video
•Producing for video
•Filming video content
•Editing video content
•Promotion of video (using cross platform assets)

Person specification
Essential
-A committed Christian and church member
-A proven passion for radio and other media
-Graduate degree holder or equivalent
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-An understanding and interest in new media
-Excellent communication skills
-Demonstrable creative skills

Desirable
-Theological training/understanding
-Web/video/audio editing and production skills
