Children's Radio Producer (Apprenticeship), Takeover Radio Sutton-in-Ashfield

Takeover Radio is a community radio station based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, who work with young people and children in Ashfield and Mansfield, delivering training in radio presenting, production, DJ skills, and giving young people the unique opportunity to broadcast to their local community. The radio station is involved in many aspects of the local community, working closely with other community groups, schools, musicians, sporting clubs, and the District and County councils to deliver a range of programming which entertains and informs the local area.

We are looking to take on a Level 3 apprentice to work as a Children’s Producer. The role will include producing and mentoring 8 to 18 year old presenters while they present live shows on Takeover Radio, training new recruits, setting up and producing a new children’s discussion show, working on community events, assisting with fund raising, and helping to run the radio station.

Ideally, you will meet the following person specification:

- Experience of working successfully with challenging young people – Experience of radio presenting or production – Experience of DJ’ing in public and/or using Virtual DJ – Knowledge of contemporary pop and dance music – DBS / CRB cleared – Up to date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures – Audio production skills (using Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity, or similar) – Experienced in using and setting up a range of production tools, including mixing desks, playout systems, audio recorders, etc – Able to use social media and online tools for effective marketing and communication

Working hours will be 2pm to 8pm Tuesday to Friday and 10.30am to 5pm.
