Cheshire’s Silk 106.9 recently celebrated it’s 15th birthday, and tripling of broadcast transmission power, which has already led to 25% increase in listening audience, has a rare and unique vacancy for Head Of Programming.

This ‘hands on’ programming management role is not 9 to 5, it is essential that you are an experienced radio professional with a great track record in locally focussed programming, have a knowledge and passion for the East Cheshire TSA, first class organisational skills, and have a great attention to detail.

You’ll be commercially minded in order to support our sales team with responsibilities including S&P activity, event co ordination and creativity for producing and executing revenue generating ideas.

As well as managing all on air, promotional team members, social media and website activity, along with coaching presentation staff, you’ll be expected to present your own daily show.

You’ll be able to attend functions within the community, representing the radio station in a positive manner.

Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of RCS Selector, or similar music scheduling system, as music logs are generated locally on site.

The position is based at our studios in Macclesfield.
