Student Media Manager

Based in Canterbury and Chatham, Kent Union is the representative body for students of the University of Kent and provides wide-ranging services for its members at campuses across Kent and on the Continent. The Union is a charity with annual revenues of £10 million and 600 staff. Our services range from a nightclub to a nursery, employment agency to retail outlets and a welfare advice centre to volunteering opportunities and a wide range of student activities. Included in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations To Work For, for four years, we believe we are one of the best students’ unions in the U.K.

We are recruiting to the post of Student Media Manager, to lead and support our three student media groups, KTV, InQuire and CSR. We have ambitious plans to grow the proportion of our volunteers involved in student media (currently at 450 members) after recently securing an exciting investment for a fit for purpose student media building. We are looking for a team player, who has significant experience of working with volunteers, an interest in the media industry, volunteering groups or membership groups and experience of working with, and ideally leading, volunteers. The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to equality of opportunity and working in a membership organisation; they will also be an effective manager who is determined, creative robust and resilient enough to cope with the demands of the role.
