Erewash Sound is one of the East Midlands top community radio stations and we’re looking for a Broadcast Engineer(s) to carry out operational, maintenance, support tasks and operate outside broadcasts on a wide range of broadcast and IT equipment in the radio stations media centre.

You may be a person studying for a career in Broadcast Technology at university or just have a keen interest in the field and want to gain more experience.

Erewash Sound offers great facilities and equipment to learn new and build on existing skills to work for a career in Broadcast Technology and this is proven as previous members of the technical team have left the radio station for full time employment at a leading commercial radio company in the UK in technology.

The successful engineer(s) will be responsible for supporting all technology used in the radio station, including analogue mixing consoles, studio/TX switching equipment, P-Squared Myriad playout system and outside broadcast/PA equipment. You must have a flexible attitude and be able to work under pressure.

The duties of the engineer(s) in the technical team involve maintaining and servicing equipment, supporting presenters on the use of the equipment including fixing faults when they arise in a timely manner. Providing training to new members of the radio station is sometimes required of the engineer(s) so experience of how a radio studio works from a tech-op or presenters prospective is desired.

The successful engineer(s) are required to have an understanding and keen interest in broadcast technology, preferably with experience on maintaining equipment such as soldering and installing broadcast hardware. Equivalent experience is accepted.
Prior experience with P-Squared Myriad or another multi-channel automated playout system would be beneficial but not essential.

The position is voluntary, as are all positions at Erewash Sound and is based at the stations media centre in Ilkeston,Derbyshire.
