Job Title: Tele-Appointer / Tele-Sales

Reporting to: Sales manager

Location: Peterborough

Role Objective and Context:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful candidate to start a career within the radio industry amongst an established and successful team.
The successful candidate will support the team by telephone appointing for the sales team, providing advertising solutions for clients whilst maximising revenue opportunities for the team, and by providing general administrative support for major projects and holiday or sickness cover. The successful candidate will have a clear developmental path based on their success.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Source, identify and secure and optimise new business appointments with identified decision makers, and to achieve an agreed amount of calls per day with an agreed conversion rate to appointments.

To understand the sales process and policies, and to source, identify, secure and optimise revenue from potential or existing clients by an agreed amount of telephone-sales calls.

To accurately compile and report your weekly activity to your line manager including calls, conversion rates, sales and forecast figures.

To project manage direct-mail or email campaigns from concept to execution.

To project manage specific campaigns that require high levels of administration. Main duties including data-entry, mail-merges.

To understand all administrative and sales systems and be able to provide administrative cover to other administrative staff at times of annual leave, sickness or busy periods.

Key Working Relationships:

Building long-term relationships with potential and existing advertisers always exceeding their expectations.
Responsible to the Sales Manager for delivery of agreed results.
To work with Sales Manager and commercial team to ensure individual, team and group targets are achieved.
Work with local Sales Manager to ensure accurate revenue forecasting.
Work with credit control, scheduling and airtime management to ensure smooth process for every client.
To work with other departments closely as and when is required

Experience & Skills:

Some telesales and / or marketing experience would be an advantage
Some media experience would be an advantage
Good general understanding of the local commercial marketplace
Good general understanding of commercial issues
Proficient use of IT systems, including Outlook, Power Point, mail-merging and database management
