Virgin Radio is currently recruiting for a Junior Technology Specialist.

The Role

Reporting to the Technology Operations Team Leader, you will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and development of Virgin Radio’s broadcast and IT infrastructure, including
business and digital media systems, studio facilities and transmission links.

Responsibilities include

· Maintain current knowledge of new broadcast and IT hardware and software
· Handling enquiries from the public regarding transmission quality and interference issues.
· Responding to out-of-hours broadcast and IT infrastructure issues when on call.
· Answer incoming calls and inbound emails to the helpdesk, providing service to the department’s customers over all available mediums.
· Where a customer’s request or problem cannot be handled via email or over the telephone, escalate the call to one of the Technology Specialists.
· Monitor the queue of calls in the helpdesk and ensure that calls are handled promptly and that our service level targets are met.
· Log all incoming calls in the helpdesk application.
· Carry out IT operational tasks as instructed; these will include tasks such as managing and archiving user accounts, performing daily checks of equipment and systems, preparing presentation equipment for loan to staff members, and managing backups.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

· Previous experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
· Previous experience in an IT helpdesk or customer service role.
· Experience of call logging software (ideally RT helpdesk) would be beneficial, as would an understanding of Windows domain based computer networks and Microsoft Windows Server products.

· Able to work under own initiative and with minimum supervision.
