Do you have a passion for creating informative and entertaining news – and the ability to lead and manage the team which provides it?

Orion Media is looking for a Group Head of News to lead a team of journalists across six stations in the West and East Midlands. You’ll be based in Birmingham, and visiting all our stations frequently.

As you’d expect, the role demands the obvious journalistic, legal and regulatory knowledge. Some sports insight would also be valuable. You’ll be experienced in coaching people to their best both on and off-air, meeting tight deadlines and managing budgets. Given the role takes in five news rooms, you’ll also have a firm practical grip on operational detail and, crucially, an awareness of general radio programming and how news plays its part.
