Serle gets Bauer promotion

Former Hallam FM sales director and Kerrang! 105.2 managing director Adrian Serle has been appointed to the newly-created post of commercial development director for Bauer Consumer Media.He will still keep some responsibility for Bauer Radio whilst taking on a whole new range of departments. Dixie replaces Ditchy at Real

Former Galaxy Yorkshire and Hallam FM presenter Dixie is joining GMG Radio to host the drivetime show on Real Radio Yorkshire, replacing David Ditchfield. (more)

Bauer's Scottish heritage suffers

Bauer's Big City network added nearly a million listeners in the past quarter, with Hallam FM recording an increase of over half a million listening hours and an increase in market share of over 2 per cent. North of the border however, there were record lows in reach for both Clyde 1 in Glasgow and Forth 1 in Edinburgh. (more)

IRN Award Shortlist Revealed

GMG and Bauer lead the nominations announced earlier today by IRN, with Hallam FM receiving five nominations, and 105.4 Century FM a close second with four. Real Radio Scotland received three nominations and Capital 95.8, Radio City and Viking FM were amongst those to receive two. (more)

Hallam FM has announced that Big John @ Breakfast is staying on the airwaves for another three years. He has already been waking up South Yorkshire for the past seven years and is said to be "chuffed" at staying.. (more)

Hallam's big party for Big John

Big John has been waking up South Yorkshire on Hallam FM for seven years this week – so he and his breakfast team are holding a birthday party for listeners at the The Oasis food Court in Sheffield’s Meadowhall Shopping Centre! The Plain White T's will also be there performing their new single Hey There Delilah. (more)

Radio Lincolnshire & Hallam FM Favourites in Yorks & Lincs

The Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire with Rod Whiting and the Drivetime Show on Hallam FM with Kam Kelly have been voted the Best in Yorks & Lincs in a poll run by Merry Media.Over the past couple of months, Merry Media has been moving from region to region across the UK to find the best breakfast and drivetime shows on the radio with votes coming from within the radio industry as well as businesses and listeners.Rod Whiting came top of the breakfast show poll with his show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire with 11% of the votes, second place was Daryl Denham on Real Radio, and in third place was Simon Logan on Radio Aire.. Hallam FM helps flood victims

The leaders of the four South Yorkshire Authorities - Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield have joined forces with Hallam FM's Big John at Breakfast to launch the South Yorkshire Flood Victim Support Appeal, with the aim of helping those hit by severe flooding this week. (more)

More FM networking at Emap

The late night slot on Emap stations Viking FM, Radio Aire and Hallam FM is set to be networked from this evening with a new show hosted by Ian Skye and Vix Larder. The Confessional will air five nights a week, Sunday to Thursday, starting tonight (April 29th). (more)

Emap promotes Hallam boss

Emap has appointed Iain Clasper, managing director of Hallam FM and Magic AM to the new role of Big City Commercial Director. The new responsibilities will be in addition to his current role at the Sheffield stations.Iain will be working with the 32 stations in the network to provide support and co-ordination between them and the national radio sales teams at Emap Advertising.
