Carol singing at Emap

Emap stations MFR, Tay, Northsound, Forth and South West Sound are uniting to broadcast a recording breaking attempt for the biggest ever carol concert in Scotland. The events take place on December 16th to mark the end of the Every Penny Counts fundraising campaign. (more)

Ofcom awards six, rejects two

In the latest round of community radio licensing, Ofcom has awarded six new radio groups a five year-long licence to broadcast. The stations are located in Inverness, Isle of Bute, North and South Queensferry, Dumfries, Bangor (Northern Ireland) and Enniskillen. (more)

Country Music Award for MFR

Inverness presenter Helen McPherson has been awarded the Country Music Association’s International Broadcaster of the Year. Helen has been broadcasting her Country show across the North of Scotland for the last 25 years. (more)

RTL FM to be relaunched as TMF Radio

Dutch Media site RadioFreak says that MTV Networks have confirmed that a new radio station called TMF Radio will take over the cable frequencies of RTL FM from 27 December. Currently, those frequencies are carrying “Sky Radio, The Christmas Station’”. MTV Networks have also registered the domain TMFradio.nl. MTV Networks runs three TV music channels in [...] (more)

Dutch Media site RadioFreak says that MTV Networks have confirmed that a new radio station called TMF Radio will take over the cable frequencies of RTL FM from 27 December.
