UTV, the Northern Ireland-based broadcaster, is still struggling to bring its Dublin radio station into the black. Losses at Q102 narrowed last year to €68,070 from €1.2m in 2004, following a 33% rise in turnover. (more)

New PD appointed at Q102 Dublin

Mark Sadler (36) will join Dublin’s Q102 as Programme Director in April 2006.
Mark is joining Q102 from MTV Networks UK & Ireland where he has been Vice President, Music, since 2002 with responsibility for devising the music policy for 9 MTV, TMF and VH1 branded channels.
With more than 12 years commercial radio experience, Mark has enjoyed a highly successful 10 year career with Capital Radio plc where he was appointed Regional Programme Director of South Coast Operations in 2000. He has also worked as Programme Director at Capital’s Southern FM, Power FM and Ocean FM helping these stations achieve record audiences. (more)

Mark Sadler will join Dublin’s Q102 as Programme Director in April 2006.

Christmas Special for Q102

Craig Doyle is pictured recording a two hour Christmas Special for Dublin’s Q102 which will be broadcast this Christmas Eve at 2pm and again on Christmas Day at 8pm.
Craig Doyle said: "I'm delighted to celebrate Christmas with Dublin’s Q102 this year. We have a fantastic line-up of guests and I can promise Dubliners a show to remember." (more)
UTV man walks to Absolute Radio

After two highly successful years re-launching UTV owned Q102 in Dublin, Programme Director Ian Walker is to join Absolute Radio’s team as Senior VP Programming and Operations.
Clive Dickens, Absolute Radio’s Programme and Operations Director says: ‘Ian is an incredibly talented programmer and manager and with increased demand from AR clients and partners for even more strategic insights coupled with operational expertise he will make a strong addition to the company.'
