Emap DJ Pete Price arrested

Radio City 96.7 late night phone-in host Pete Price will be arrested and locked up - in aid of charity. He is supporting the Stroke Association's Liverpool Jail and Bail event, which is raising money to help local people living with the affects of stroke throughout Merseyside. He won't be let out until enough money has been raised for his bail. (more)

Radio City host visits hospital

A nurse at Clatterbridge Hospital in Wirral has been named the favourite of patients by listeners to the hospital’s radio station – Radio Clatterbridge. Zoe Jones, a staff nurse from the Stroke Rehabilitation Ward, was voted by her patients as the member of staff who has gone out of her way most to make their stay in hospital that little bit easier. In their nominations, patients described Zoe as "very helpful" and "kindness personified". She was surprised on the wards with flowers and a certificate by Radio City 96.7 personality Pete Price. Emap plan talk for Liverpool

The closing date for the new commercial radio station for Liverpool is getting closer, and Emap have confirmed they will be applying for the licence to compliment their excisting services of Radio City 96.7 and Magic 1548. The application will propose a format which will be substantially speech featuring discussions and interviews with studio guests on local matters, health and lifestyle issues, home and garden improvement tips, parenting problems and sport including live commentary, in addition to news, weather, what's on, traffic and travel information. Emap stations up for award

Three out of the five nominated shortlist for Best Radio Station in the Music Week Awards 2006 - are Emap Stations. Clyde 1, Kerrang! 105.2 and Radio City 96.7 along with The Beach and BBC Radio 2 are in the shortlist. The winner will be announced at the event on March 2nd 2006. The Music Week Awards celebrate the achievements of companies and individuals working in the UK music industry over the past year. From A&R all the way through to retail, the Awards celebrate success and innovation throughout the business - and are also the industry's biggest party of the year. (more)

New boss named at Radio City

Radio City 96.7 in Liverpool has named the new Managing Director as Iain McKenna. Ian is currently MD of Northsound Radio in Aberdeen but will switch to his new role some time after April 1st 2006. Radio City has been operating without an appointed Managing Director since Tom Hunter suddenly left the station in October 2005 'at his own request to concentrate on other interests'. (more)
