Rock Radio & Forth One Favourites in Southern Scotland

The Breakfast Show on Rock Radio with Kieron Elliott and the Drivetime Show on Forth One with Yasmin Zemmoura have been voted the Best in Southern Scotland in a poll run by Merry Media.Over the past couple of months, Merry Media has been moving from region to region across the UK to find the best breakfast and drivetime shows on the radio with votes coming from within the radio industry as well as businesses and listeners.Kieron Elliott's show received 12% of the votes, followed by Robin Galloway's breakfast show on sister station Real Radio with 11% of the votes. In third place was Julyan Sinclair on XFM Scotland.. (more)
Dominik swaps rock for talk

Dominik Diamond is joining UTV's talk107 to cover a number of programmes over the summer months, RadioToday.co.uk can reveal. He will co-host drivetime with regular presenter Heather Dee next week before moving to breakfast from 16th July. Dominik is leaving Xfm Scotland after being refused a pay-rise, according to reports. Nick Davidson: My Life In Media

Nick Davidson, 37, is the managing director of Xfm, the London radio station which is up against Radio 1 and Radio 2 for UK Station of the Year in today's Sony Radio Awards. He is also responsible for GCap Media North, which includes the Xfm Manchester, Xfm Scotland and Century brands. Although work is divided between London and Manchester, he lives in Cardiff with his wife Beverley and their two daughters. When he's not pondering the possibilities of digital radio he can be found watching Liverpool FC. (more)
Xfm apologise for bad track

Ofcom received a complaint from a listener to Xfm Scotland's MP3 Downloads Show after hearing the song 'It was a good day' by Ice Cube.
The song used a strong swear word several times and included sexually explicit language. The listener noted that the presenter did not apologise afterwards.

Xfm Scotland launches

Scotland's newest radio station, Xfm has launched this morning at 8am taking over from Beat 106.
The Dominik Diamond Breakfast Show started the broadcast after a short launch sequence. The station imaging is similar to Xfm London but features a Scottish voice-over. (more)
